LOS ANGELES, Calif. (May 15, 2001) - Loyola Marymount University senior Kim Bissett put the finishing touches on an impressive career by being tabbed the Wester Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
The senior from Akron, Ohio, finished the Lions' 4-3 week with a .455 batting average in the Western Intercollegiate Softball League Tournament. The infielder led all hitters in the WISL with a .450 batting average and was named to the All-WISL team.
On the week, Bissett scored a total of three runs and drove in five, while nailing a double and stealing two bases, sacrificing a hit and drawing a walk. In six of seven games, Bissett recorded a hit, with multiple hits coming in four of those contests.
In the Lion's 4-2 win over St. Mary's on May 11, she went 2-for-2 with one RBI. Earlier in the week against San Diego, Bissett went 2-for-3 at the plate, driving in a run. She accounted for three of the team's nine runs in a shutout against St. Mary's, going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
