Big Bats Lead LMU to Split; Jamgotchian Homers Twice, Walker Triples Twice

OGDEN, Utah - LMU softball split Saturday's doubleheader at Weber State, using a late offensive surge to take game one before falling in the second game of the afternoon. The Lions move to 22-10 on the season heading into Sunday's finale.

Game 1: LMU 9, Weber State 2
LMU's offense came alive late, highlighted by a dominant performance from Izzy Jamgotchian, who delivered two home runs - including back-to-back blasts across her final two at-bats - to power the Lions.

After trailing early, LMU took control in the fourth inning when Sakora Harvell scored a two-run, inside the park homer to give the Lions the lead. Jamgotchian added a solo shot in the sixth before delivering again in the seventh as part of a six-run outburst that broke the game open.

Taelor Walker and Sydney Poole also made an impact at the plate each with a triple a piece in the contest, while multiple Lions contributed to an 11-hit effort.

In the circle, Lindsay O'Dell went the distance, allowing just two runs while striking out four to secure the win.

Game 2: Weber State 4, LMU 2
The Lions struck early in the second game, taking a 2-0 lead behind RBIs from Meeya Johnson, who drove in both runs for LMU.

Taelor Walker stayed hot at the plate, legging out her second triple of the day after already recording one in game one.
LMU received a solid start from Sara Pinedo, who threw three scoreless innings with four strikeouts.

The Lions were limited offensively down the stretch, finishing with three hits, as Weber State used a late push in the sixth inning to take the lead.

Up Next
LMU will be right back in action tomorrow morning for one final matchup against Weber State, with first pitch set for 11:00 AM (PT), as the Lions look to close out the series strong before heading back home.
