Kim Bissett were named to the
All-Tournament team at the Malahini Softball Tournament hosted by the
University of Hawaii March 8-11. The two seniors led the Lions to their
best finish ever in the tournament, winning three of five pool play games
and reaching the semi-final game in championship play.
Lead-off hitter Trauernicht batted .391 (9 for 23, two doubles) and stole
three bases. She has now been successful in all 16 of her stolen base
attempts in the 2001 season. Trauernicht, from Omaha, Nebraska, was a 2000
All-WAC second team selection.
Clean-up hitter Bissett continued her season-long torrid hitting, batting
.381 (8 for 21). Her team-leading batting average is now .366. The Akron,
Ohio native was a 2000 All-WAC first team selection.
The Lions season record is 17-9, 0-2 in the Western Athletic Conference.
