Los Angeles, Calif., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000 - The Loyola Marymount women's basketball team rolled to a 75-59 win over Cal State Northridge Sunday afternoon in the consolation game of the Oakland Tribune Classic. The Lions faced the Matadors in Haas Pavilion on the campus of California-Berkeley after falling to Florida International University in day one of the tournament yesterday. Junior guard Bryn Britton recorded her first double-double of the year as she pulled down 10 rebounds while also posting a game-high 23 points.

The Lions saw that lead slowly slip away as CSUN's ReShawna Richardson tied the game 27-27 with a field goal at the 3:08 mark. LMU regained the lead on free throws by sophomore center Shannon Wosman and Reynolds but the Matadors answered with back-to-back buckets to take a one-point advantage into the break

The Matadors (2-4 Overall) began the second half with a spark as they went on an 8-0 run and pushed the lead to 39-30 in the first two and a half minutes of play. The Lions quickly answered with a 9-0 run of their own to tie the game at 39-39. LMU would again tie the score at 41-41 before finally taking the lead again. Once in the lead the Lions never looked back as they enjoyed their largest lead of the game, 19 points (73-54), with just 1:38 remaining in regulation.

For the Lions, Reynolds finished with 16 points, five boards and six assists while sophomore forward Kate Murray added in 14 points and eight rebounds. Rounding out LMU's double-digit scorers was Wosman who collected 13 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
