Tony Bruce

Tony Bruce joined the LMU men's soccer staff in the spring of 2016 as the Lions' Director of Operations. He comes to the LMU program from the Real Salt Lake Academy and is currently also serving as the Director of Coaching for boys in the Fram Soccer Club.

Bruce has a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a coach. He has served on the staff of five college programs in the Southern California area including CSUN, Cal State Dominguez Hills, El Camino Community College, Antelope Valley College and Mission College. He has also worked with nine difference high school programs and more than a dozen club teams, most recently as a staff coach and head scout with Real Salt Lake Academy of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA).

As a youth player in Europe, he played for Drumchael Amateurs (Scotland) and Partick Thistle (Scotland), and later for Leeds Academy, Manchester City and Bolton Wanderers. As an adult in the United States, Bruce competed for the Los Angeles Aztecs and San Diego Jaws, both of the North American Soccer League (NASL) and for the California Sunshine of the American Soccer League (ASL). He also has 14 years of playing experience on a variety of teams in the Greater Los Angeles Professional League.

Bruce holds a variety of coaching licenses including USSF National A, B and C, USSF National Youth, USSF National Goalkeeper, Brazilian B and C (Brusa), NSCAA Goalkeeper and NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching. He has also served as a State and Regional Staff Coach with the United States Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Program (ODP) and a Coaching Education Staff Coach with the California Youth Soccer Association - South.
