Breifly: Laura Trask will begin her freshman campaign at
LMU...participated on the under-18 regional team with
Nishikawa...offensive-minded in high school, but will see time with
Nishikawa as an outside backer with the injury to Nelson...will
compete for starting time, and will add even more depth at the
midfield position...could see time at forward.
High School: Trask was a four-time letter winner at Valhalla High
School...graduated from Valhalla in 2000 with a 3.5 GPA ...she was
named MVP her junior and senior season...named athlete of the week
her junior season by the Union Tribune newspaper...nominated to the
Excaliber Tournament all-tourney team as a junior...selected to the
Channel 39 News Power Bar Team of the Year as a senior...first team
all-conference selection all four years...named to the All-CIF first
team her senior season and to the second team her first three
seasons...was also a cross country letter-winner her sophomore and
junior seasons...was an All-City selection her sophomore season...
won CIF her sophomore season...placed 36th in the state that
year...team won league title in junior season.
Personal: Laura Lynn Trask was born June 7, 1982 in San Diego,
CA...daughter of Jeanette and Gary Trask...she will study business at
LMU...has a brother, Robert...brother plays football at University of
San Diego....father ran track for two years at Grossmont
College...Benefit Dance Activities Coordinator at high school...chose
LMU for business program...recruitied by USC, Pepperdine, USF,
Rutgers and San Diego State...played against teammate Stephanie Tobin
in high school...summer job as a physical therapy
receptionist...loves potatoes.
