season...finished tied for the team lead with five goals, and ranked
first with three game-winning goals...in her best game ever at LMU,
she scored two goals on two shots in a 2-2 tie against UC Irvine on
September 18...collected 16 shots in the season, nine of which were
on-goal...scored the game-winning goals against Long Beach State
(Sept. 1), Cal State Northridge (Sept. 25) and Sacramento State (Oct.
4).
High School: Tanksley is a 1998 graduate of Centennial High School
in Corona, CA...a four-year letterwinner in both soccer and
softball...served as team captain for both teams as a senior...earned
All-Mountain View League soccer accolades as a sophomore, junior and
senior...earned All-CIF Division IV third-team honors as a sophomore,
and second-team honors as a senior...led the team in goals scored for
three seasons...1998 squad reached the CIF Semifinals...prep coach
was Kelli Brew.
Personal: Kerri Janelle Tanksley (Tanks) was born on April 30, 1980
in Helena, AR...the daughter of Johnny and Deenna Tanksley...has one
sister, Kelli...also considered San Francisco and Cal State
Fullerton...names the Anaheim Angels as her favorite professional
team, and Mia Hamm as her favorite professional athlete...an
accounting major who aspires to become a financial advisor.
