Briefly: Kim Buccola begins her final year at LMU...rebounded from injuries in 1998 to play in 17 matches for the Lions last season...most productive in 1999 when coming off the bench in key reserve roles...had an outstanding spring...an excellent example of endurance with great pace...will compete for a starting position in the midfield...will provide senior leadership for the Lions this season.

At LMU: Buccola enters her senior season in the Lions' program...
1999:...accumulated six points for the Lions in 1999...played in 17 matches and started in five of them...had breakthrough game against Utah State, scoring two goals for four points in the 7-0 win...assisted in the game winner against Air Force Academy on Sept. 3...assisted on game winner in 2-1 victory over rival Pepperdine in WCC play on Oct. 18... finished the season with 10 shots, seven on goal...her .700 SOG percentage was second for the Lions last season...
1998:...played in 11 games, starting in six of those contests...collected a goal and four shots against Northern Arizona on September 7...provided outside speed in the midfield that led to two assists on the season...finished the season with four points while putting seven shots on-goal...
1997:...saw playing time in 16 games throughout the season...started against Texas-El Paso (Sept. 12) and Weber State (Sept. 28)...scored sudden-death goal against Hawai'i on September 21...tallied one assist and nine shots on-goal.

High School: Buccola is a 1997 graduate of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA...earned five varsity letters in soccer and track...named to the 1997 All-Orange County second team by the Los Angeles Times and Orange County Register...a two-time all-league first team selection...garnered second-team all-county honors and third-team All-CIF accolades her senior year...named co-MVP in the Orange County All-Star high school game...earned MVP honors in track and broke two high school records...advanced to the CIF track and field finals in two events...also played prep volleyball and was pulled up for the CIF Championships as a sophomore...prep soccer coaches were current LMU assistant coach Michelle Myers and Austin Sharp.

Personal: Kimberly (Kimi) Anne Buccola was born on April 30, 1979 in Newport Beach, CA...the daughter of Richard and Rita Buccola...has two brothers, Scott and Brent, and one sister, Shelby...her brother Scott played football at San Diego...also recruited by Texas-El Paso and San Diego...names the US National Women's Soccer Team as her favorite team...lists Mexican food as her favorite food...a communications major.
