Briefly: Amanda Shellenberger begins her fourth year at LMU...returned to outside midfield position in 1999 after a redshirt season and responded with seven points on the year...will supply leadership as a fourth-year junior...a member of Gryphon Circle (campus service organization)...received ample playing time during the spring...a dangerous player on the flank with her ability to cross and shoot...a much improved player with tremendous potential...awarded the Fr. Alfred Klip, S.J. Leadership Award at the concludion of the 1999-2000 academic year. The award is presented to sophomores and junior who have demonstrated exemplary service and leadership in the community.

At LMU: Shellenberger enters her third season in the Lions' program as an active player...
1999:...played in 18 of the 19 games for the Lions...started in 15 games at midfield...scored lone goal, game winner, against San Francisco on Oct. 10 in a 6-0 victory...was the team's assist leader with five on the year...had two assists in 7-0 win over Utah State on Oct. 8...had two games with multiple points (USF and Utah State)...on the season had 17 shots, six that went on net (.353 SOG%)...
1998:...granted a redshirt season to rehabilitate from an ACL injury suffered in the spring of 1998...
1997:...saw playing time in 18 games through the season...scored three goals, including two against UC Santa Barbara in the season opener...tallied two assists against Texas-El Paso (Sept. 12) and Arizona State (Oct. 3).

High School: Shellenberger is a 1997 graduate of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School in Burien, WA...a three-year letterwinner in soccer and four-year letterwinner in track...named the Val Kirk Scholar Athlete of the Year in 1997...led her soccer team to three Seamount League Championships...a two-time All-Seamount League selection in soccer...served as team captain her senior year...led her team to the state championships as a sophomore...honored as the team MVP as a senior...led track team to the state championship during her senior year...prep soccer coach was Doug Stamnes.

Personal: Amanda Mary Shellenberger was born on November 19, 1978 in Seattle, WA...the daughter of Mike Shellenberger and Mary Nagan...she has one brother, Waylon, and one sister, Maggie...lists grilled cheese sandwiches as her favorite food...names Michelle Akers as her favorite professional athlete...also recruited by San Francisco and Oklahoma State...a civil engineering major.
