Austin, Texas, September 17, 1999 -- Loyola Marymount's women's soccer team defeated the University of Texas by a score of 1-0 today in double overtime at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Freshman Mia Moe scored her second game-winning goal of the season at the 113:40 mark of the second overtime period to lift the Lions to their fifth win of the season. Moe broke away from the defender, beat Texas' goalkeeper Cami Varnadore and found the back of the net for the score. LMU goalkeeper Tracy Sharp recorded her 21st career shutout as she helped the Lions improve their record to 5-1 overall.

LMU's defense held the Longhorns, who now dropped to 4-2 overall, to just three shots on the day. Varnadore posted five saves in the game for Texas, but could not stop Moe's attack.

The Lions now head to Waco, Texas to face No. 18 Baylor this Sunday, September 19. The non-conference game is set for a 1 p.m. start.
