Briefly:Michael Coakley begins his second year at LMU will pose as
the Lions' biggest target up front...displays amazing footwork...is
incredibly skilled in the air.
At LMU:Coakley enters his sophomore season in the Lions'
program...1999...played in 18 games and started in six...finished tied for
second on the team in goals with four...ended the season tied for third
in points (11), shots (25) and shots-on-goal (14)...collected three
assists, third best on the team...posted goals against UC Irvine (Oct.
1), CS Fullerton (Oct. 3), St. Mary's (Nov. 5) and CS Northridge
(Nov. 7).
High School:Coakley is a 1998 graduate of Palisades High School in
Pacific Palisades, CA...a four-year letterwinner in soccer...also
participated in cross country and track...prep soccer coaches were
Chris Busasser and Dave Williams.
Personal:Michael Director Coakley was born on June 20, 1980 in Los
Angeles, CA...the son of Michael and Randall Coakley...has one sister,
Raleigh...also recruited by Portland...names "Dennis Miller Live" as his
favorite television show...a mechanical engineering major.
