PORTLAND, Ore. — LMU lost to Portland 4-0 on Saturday at Merlo Field.
The Lions generated nine shots and put four on frame, while Portland finished with 12 shots and seven shots on goal.
Ky Mani Dade recorded three saves for the Lions, and Portland's goalkeeper was credited with four saves.
Portland put the Lions in a 3-0 first-half deficit, scoring at 5:13 and adding goals at 27:24 and 28:34. Dade kept the margin there with a penalty-kick save at 33:27 and another save seconds later. Dade had an unbelievable double save after the Pilots were awarded a penalty, saving the penalty with a full extension dive to his left before springing up and fully extending to his right to save the follow-up shot.
Portland scored another in the second half to mark the final tally.
