LOS ANGELES — Following a perfect 3-0 opening weekend in Oxford, Loyola Marymount University women's volleyball placed three players on the Ole Miss Invitational All-Tournament Team, highlighted by Maria Tabacuks and Nicole Schuetz being named Co-MVPs.
Tabacuks and Schuetz shared the tournament's top individual honor after leading an LMU attack that helped the Lions open the season 3-0 for the first time since 2018. Setter Delfina Schuh also earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team after directing the offense throughout the weekend.
Tabacuks finished the tournament with 52 kills across 10 sets, averaging 5.20 kills per set while hitting .352. She reached double figures in kills in all three matches, including an error-free 21-kill performance on .553 hitting in LMU's sweep of Southeastern Louisiana. She closed the weekend with 19 kills and 11 digs against Ole Miss, recording her first double-double of the season and helping the Lions finish the tournament undefeated.
Schuetz provided another major scoring threat throughout the weekend, highlighted by a pair of 21-kill performances. She opened the season with 21 kills on .563 hitting in the sweep of Northern Arizona, then finished the tournament with 21 kills on .348 hitting and 13 digs in LMU's four-set victory over Ole Miss. Her performance against the Rebels included a double-double and a team-high 23.0 points.
Schuh earned All-Tournament honors after orchestrating the Lions' offense across all three victories. She totaled 122 assists over 10 sets, averaging 12.20 assists per set, while also contributing 18 digs, five blocks and two service aces. Schuh recorded 38 assists against Northern Arizona, 35 against Southeastern Louisiana and a season-high 49 in the tournament-closing win over Ole Miss.
LMU dropped just one set across the weekend, sweeping Northern Arizona and Southeastern Louisiana before defeating host Ole Miss in four sets to complete the undefeated trip.
Ole Miss libero Cameron Bradley and outside hitter Shayla Meyer also earned All-Tournament recognition, along with Southeastern Louisiana's Kyra McKelvey and Northern Arizona's Gigi Greenlee.
