Lions Advance to Friday’s Semifinal with Opening Round WCC Tournament Win

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – The top-seeded LMU beach volleyball team advanced into Friday's games after a 4-1 win in Thursday's opening game against Santa Clara. The Lions led the dual 4-0 before pulling out of the final court to preserve athletes for Saturday.

Up Next:
The Lions will look to advance to the finals with a win in Friday's 9:45 AM match. LMU will play the winner of Thursday's 2-seed Pepperdine versus 3-seed Saint Mary's match.

The tournament will run from April 23-24 at Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica, Calif. All duals will be streamed live on ESPN+ and fans can watch from the beach at no charge.

The Lions have won each of the last six WCC Championships, and will look to extend their conference-record streak to seven in a row this week. LMU won the conference championship in 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. There was no postseason held in 2020.
