Lawson Named to WCC All-Tournament Team After Semifinal Standout Performance

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Loyola Marymount graduate guard Jess Lawson has been named to the West Coast Conference All-Tournament Team, the conference announced following the conclusion of the 2026 WCC Women's Basketball Championship at Orleans Arena.

Lawson earned the honor after delivering the most impactful performance in LMU's semifinal matchup against Oregon State, leading the Lions with 25 points and 10 rebounds while adding four steals and three assists in the contest. Her double-double highlighted a relentless effort on both ends of the floor as LMU battled throughout the semifinal matchup.

The 5-foot-7 graduate transfer from Central Michigan once again proved to be one of the most impactful players on the floor, combining scoring, defense, and rebounding to keep the Lions within striking distance throughout the game. Lawson's ability to impact every phase of play has been a defining part of LMU's success this season.

Her semifinal performance also came on the heels of another memorable outing against Oregon State earlier this season, when Lawson recorded 15 points and an incredible 21 rebounds, showcasing her toughness and ability to compete well beyond her size.

Lawson's All-Tournament Team selection adds another accolade to what has been a historic season for LMU women's basketball, as the Lions captured the 2026 WCC Regular Season Championship and established themselves as one of the conference's top teams.

With the conference tournament now complete, LMU turns its attention to Selection Sunday on March 15, when the NCAA Tournament field will be revealed on ESPN at 5 PM, followed by the announcement of the WBIT and WNIT brackets.
