HONOLULU, Hi. – The 2026 beach volleyball season continued with the second day of the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Classic. No. 7 LMU dropped both matches on Friday, falling to No. 1 UCLA and No. 6 Texas.
 
The Lions closed out the match against the Bruins with a win in three sets on Flight 2 from Magdalena Rabitsch and Ines Piret. The pair then almost led the Lions to a reverse sweep against Texas, earning the first point with the Lions down 2-0. Court 1 followed to even the score at 1-1 with Tanon Rosenthal and Anna Pelloia winning in three. With the dual on the line, Ellie Davis and Katie McAlister played a gauntlet final set before eventually losing the point, 14-21, 21-15, 21-19.
