LOS ANGELES – The 2026 NCAA Beach Volleyball season opens this week across the country with teams returning to the sand as early as Thursday. LMU opens the year ranked No.7 in the first National AVCA Coaches Poll and will begin play with a loaded field in the competitive Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Classic.
 
Played at Queen's Beach in Waikiki, the tournament features exclusively top ranked teams with the participation of No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Stanford, No. 4 USC, No. 6 Texas, No. 7 LMU, No. 9 Cal, and No. 16 Hawaii. Each program will play two matches per day in a round-robin format between February 19 and 21, in order to play all opponents.
 
Admission is free to attend any of the 21 matches. Live scoring will be available on Statbroadcast.com will links live on LMULions.com.

In last season's opening week event, LMU went 5-1 in Hawaii, earning victories against No. 1 USC, No. 2 TCU, No. 5 Stanford, No. 11 Arizona State, and No. 12 Hawaii.
 
The Lions will make their home debut on the mainland the following week with home duals scheduled for Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28. Admission is free to all home matches this season at the on-campus LMU Beach Volleyball Courts.
