LOS ANGELES — LMU clinched the doubles point and won three of six singles matches to defeat UC Davis 4-1 on Thursday at the LMU Tennis Center.
The Lions secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Alex Padro and
Max Wuelfing defeated Lucas Bollinger and Kurt Miller 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while
Cesar Cruz and
Darius Tamaddon topped Nadaul Cheam and Dylan Paterson 6-2 at No. 3.
In singles play, Padro led the way with a straight-set victory over Paterson 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5.
Emil Kindhult cruised past Perry DiGiulio 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 3 position, and Cruz rallied for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Kaveh Taheri at No. 2.
UC Davis avoided the shutout when Eduardo Gonzalez defeated
Kuba Hrynkiewicz 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
Matches at No. 1 and No. 6 singles were left unfinished with the team outcome decided.
