Lions Picked to Win Seventh-Consecutive WCC Title, Led by Five Preseason All-WCC Selections

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – LMU beach volleyball enters their 15th season as a program and looks to win their seventh-consecutive West Coast Conference Championship in 2026. The Lions were once again picked as the preseason favorites by the WCC's Head Coaches.

LMU received all but one first place vote in the annual poll (teams were unable to vote for themselves) and finished with 36 points. Pepperdine (30 points), Santa Clara (27), Saint Mary's (20), San Francisco (17, Pacific (9), and Portland (8) round out the conference order.

Additionally, LMU led the selections in the 2026 All-WCC Beach Volleyball Preseason Team with half of the 10 members. Returning All-Conference Chloe Hooker, Anna Pelloia, and Tanon Rosenthal are joined by All-Conference Second Teamer and one half of the 2026 WCC Pair of the Year member Magdalena Rabitsch, and newcomer Ines Piret. Hooker was named WCC Defensive Player of the Year last season and Rosenthal earned WCC Co-Freshmen of the Year accolades.

The Lions will open their season as defending NCAA Tournament Finalists with the first competition set for the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Classic from February 19-21 played at Queen's Beach.

LMU's home debut will be on February 27 and 28 for four games between the two days.
