SAN FRANCISCO - Backed by four home runs and a dominant relief outing from right-hander Zack Mack, LMU overpowered San Francisco 12-4 on Saturday afternoon at Benedetti Diamond to take the first two games of the weekend series. 
 

The Lions scored in five different innings and piled up 13 hits, including a trio of multi-run long balls, while Mack fanned 10 over five innings in relief to earn the win. 

How LMU Scored 
LMU struck first when Cam Hassert walked and Beau Ankeney reached on an error. That set the stage for Nate Savoie, who drilled a three-run homer to left field on the first pitch he saw, giving the Lions a quick 3-0 lead. 

With the score tied 3-3, Hassert singled and scored on a two-run homer to left center by Ankeney, his 11th of the season. After a pair of two-out baserunners, Zion Williams smashed a three-run shot over the wall in left, giving LMU an 8-3 advantage and chasing USF reliever Tyler Prystajko from the game. 

Williams added his fifth RBI of the day with a two-out RBI single to center, scoring Devan Ornelas, who had reached on a hit-by-pitch and advanced to second on a groundout. 

LMU added three more in the ninth. Robbie Ayers singled and came home on another RBI single from Williams. Moments later, Colby Wallace drove a two-run homer to right center, capping the scoring at 12 runs. It was Wallace's first homer of the year.
