LMU Beats #11 and #12 Teams on Rainy First Day of East Meets West

MANHATTAN BEACH, CALIF. - #2 LMU Beach Volleyball survived a day of rain and win to defeat a pair of top schools from the east. In the opening day of the East Meets West Invitational, the Lions swept #11 LSU and then closed the afternoon with a 3-2 victory over #12 Texas. The weather was rainy all day with temperatures at a high of 52.

The Lions will return to the Manhattan Beach Pier on Saturday to conclude the event with duals against #19 Florida International and #8 Florida State. The matches are scheduled for 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM, respectively.
