Lions Stay Perfect with 94-72 Win Over Arkansas-Pine Bluff

LOS ANGELES – The Lions stayed hot Saturday night, rolling past Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 94-72, in Gersten to move to 3-0 on the season.

Five different Lions hit double figures, showing off how balanced LMU's offense was from start to finish.

Rodney Brown Jr. had a career-high 28 points while hitting eight threes on 13 attempts and going 4-for-6 from the line. He poured in 14 points in each half and was a huge part of the win.

Jan Vide kept up his strong start to the season with a double-double, 15 points and 11 assists on 5-of-9 shooting. He's now scored in double digits in all three games. Vide became the first Lion since Cam Shelton in December of 2022 to have eight or more assists with no turnovers.

Jalen Shelley added 13 points and went a perfect 5-for-5 from the stripe, while Myron Amey Jr. and Josh Dalton each chipped in 10 points.

LMU came out strong early, but Pine Bluff made things interesting midway through the first half, tying it at 14 and briefly taking the lead. That didn't last long, though, when the Lions closed the half on a run, capped by a Dalton tip-in and a Vide three to take a 38-31 lead into the break.

The second half was all LMU. The Lions shot nearly 57% from the field, 53% from deep, and got a huge boost from the bench, which outscored Pine Bluff's reserves 20-2. LMU's lead ballooned to 26 after an Amey Jr. three, and the Golden Lions couldn't recover.

Next up, the Lions hit the road to take on the UTEP Miners on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in El Paso, TX.
