LOS ANGELES – LMU men's tennis opened the 2024 fall season with a strong showing at the Sherwood Collegiate Classic hosted by Cal Lutheran University over the weekend.
Youssef Sadek and
Jacopo Denitto won their first matches in LMU colors.
Sascha Nothdurft was the most successful Lion over the weekend, notching the best record as well as taking home wins over traditional powers UCLA, USC and SMU and adding a victory over New Mexico.
Sebastian Nothhaft had a great final day at the Classic, going 2-0 including a win over a Pacific team that the Lions will see in conference play.
Overall, the Lions defeated players from UCLA, USC, SMU, New Mexico, Pacific and Cal.
LMU will next be in action in the SoCal Intercollegiates hosted by the ITA in San Diego, Calif. The tournament will take place from Thursday, September 26 to Sunday, September 29.
