LA VERNE, Calif. - The LMU Women's Swimming program wrapped up competition Sunday evening at the La Verne Winter Invitational at East Los Angeles College.
Led by sophomore Lia Murray and junior Natalie Hogenboom, the Lions tallied 408 points over the three-day event, placing ninth of 16 teams and the fifth highest among PCSC competitors. Murray was the top performer for the Lions, scoring 42 points, punctuated by a fourth-place finish in the 100-backstroke on Saturday. Murray's time of 57.14 is currently ranked as the second-fastest time in the PCSC this season. Murray also qualified for the evening finals in the 100-individual medley on Sunday, finishing in 11
th place with a personal best time of 1:00.80.
Hogenboom competed in the evening finals in both the 500-freestyle on Friday and the 200-butterfly on Sunday, recording a personal best time of 5:08.52 (13
th place) in the 500 and another "PB" in the 200-butterfly with a 2:09.88 (13
th place). Hogenboom also achieved a third "PB" on Saturday evening leading off LMU's 800 freestyle relay with a 1:56.75. Senior
Heidi Ly, graduating early at the end of the current semester, swam in her final competition as a Lion on Sunday evening, placing 12th in the 100-individual medley in 1:00.82.
Twelve additional Lions, including six freshmen, made it back for the evening finals over the three-day competition:

The Lions will now take a break from competitions through final exams and the holidays and return to the starting blocks on January 8th in a quad-dual meet against San Diego St, Fresno St. and the University of Alaska.
