CORVALLIS, Ore. – The LMU men's soccer team fell to Oregon State 5-1 on a rainy Wednesday night in Corvallis, Ore.
Â
The Beavers scored a pair of first half goals and poured on three more after the break.
Â
The scoresheet could have looked worse if not for some stellar saves from
Massimo Oedekoven Pomponi. The Oregon native added a flying punch to deny the Beavers a sure goal.
Â
Alejandro Fuentesal-Atalanta provided the lone tally for the Lions. He used one of his signature pacey runs to weave through the left side of the defense. A nifty move left him with enough space to fire a shot that was deflected past a diving goalkeeper. It was Fuentesal'a third goal of the season.
Â
The Lions continue the road trip against Portland on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. (PT). The match will be broadcast on ESPN+.
