MISSOULA, MT – The Lions faced a tough loss against the Montana Grizzlies on Wednesday morning, ultimately falling short with a final score of 82-68.
 
Even though the Lions lost, Amaya Oliver had an outstanding game, finishing with a new career-high 19 points and eight rebounds.
 
Notable contributions came from Nicole Rodriguez, Alexis Mark, Ella Wedin, and Cynthia Ezeja, each scoring nine points. Mark also dominated the boards with nine rebounds. Wedin's precision from beyond the arc, going 3-5 on three-pointers, played a crucial role in LMU's efforts.
 
The Grizzlies took an early lead, securing the first five baskets, and though Oliver's back-to-back layups narrowed the gap, Montana held on, leading 23-15. 
 
In the second quarter, a trio of consecutive three-pointers brought the Lions within one, but Montana maintained a slim lead. A 4-0 run at the end of the first half left the score at 33-32 in favor of the Grizzlies.
 
During the third quarter, the game reached its first tie at 33 apiece, but the Grizzlies quickly broke the deadlock by making their next five shots. Although the Lions managed to narrow the score to within three twice, the Grizzlies came out on top in the quarter, 60-51.
 
Throughout the fourth quarter, the Lions narrowed the score to within five on multiple occasions. However, LMU faced disappointment as Montana secured the last nine points of the game, resulting in a 14-point victory with a final score of 82-68.
