SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Sophomore Adam Trafecanty recorded a top ten finish and the LMU men's cross-country team finished sixth at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. on Friday. 

 

The team competed in the men's gold 5-mile race with 13 other schools. Of note, the team usually competes in an 8k race, meaning this particular race had an additional 45 meters. 

 

Trafecanty continually improved throughout the race, going from 77th at the one-mile marker and finishing tenth overall. The sophomore was 35th at the 4000-meter mark and 17th at the 5130-meter mark before improving to 8th at 6940 meters and finishing at 10. Trafecanty finished in 24:37.2, a personal best.  

 

Miguel Barrera-Lopez also recorded a personal best, finishing in 24:54.3. He finished 18th overall.  

 

Roberto Ruelas, Daniel Vaca and Shane Ely finished the scoring for the Lions, who finished sixth overall. LMU finished six points out of fifth and eight points behind the fourth place Raiders of Texas Tech.
