LOS ANGELES – The Western Water Polo Association has named
Blazo Mitrovic Conference Player of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. Mitrovic made his season debut last week, leading the Lions to a 3-0 record and two conference wins.
Mitrovic led the team with 12 goals and 18 total points over the three games. The senior also added six assists and six steals. Mitrovic opened the week with a five goal and three assist performance to top Concordia and followed the next day with four goals and two assists to make LMU the WWPA's only team with two league wins.
The Lions enter the week maintaining the No. 15 ranking in the country. LMU plays three games this week, a conference road game at Fresno Pacific on Thursday, a non-conference road game at No. 9 Pepperdine on Saturday, and a home matchup with No. 4 Stanford Sunday at the Burns Aquatics Center.
