GULF SHORES, Ala. – The #4 LMU beach volleyball advanced to the weekend after defeating #13 Hawaii, 3-0, in Wednesday morning's opening round matchup.
The Lions won the first set on all five courts to put them in a position to clinch with each pair.
Megan Rice and
Reka Orsi Toth took the first match point, taking down the Sandbows 21-12, 21-13.
With nearly simultaneous finishes, the dual was clinched with wins on four and five as the pairs of

The Lions will await Friday's opponent but will play at 8:00 AM PST as one of the final eight teams still standing. The winner of #5 Florida State and #12 Cal Poly will be LMU's next opponent.
Beginning Friday, all remaining teams will have a double-elimination tournament, whereas those who lose on Wednesday are eliminated.
