LOS ANGELES – For the second time in program history, the Loyola Marymount University beach volleyball team will be heading to the NCAA Beach Volleyball Tournament in Gulf Shores, Ala., as a 4-seed. 

 John Mayer, Head Coach of this BVB side expressed his thoughts on the bracket. 

"The quality of work this season is evident. We played a tough schedule and tough competition. To be considered among the top 4 is definitely an honor... We've played them twice this year (Hawaii). We will get pushed as expected in the tournament."

On Saturday afternoon, the 2022 Selection Show announced that the Lions will head to the tournament as a 4-seed, and will take on the Hawaii seeded 13.
 
The Lions will head to Gulf Shores with a 29-7 record and as West Coast Conference Champions, as the team recently won all three straight matches to take the conference title. 
 
The Lions will take on the Rainbow Warriors on Wednesday at 9:00 AM PST. The matches can be watched on ESPN Networks and ESPN3. The winner of Wednesday's elimination matches will go on to play Friday in the double elimination portion of the schedule.
