SPOKANE, WA – The Loyola Marymount University Lions (16-26-1, 12-8 WCC) rallied to take home Game 2 of the series against #11 Gonzaga (27-13).
The Lions began the game trailing after the first two innings by two runs. In the third inning, Benny Casillas helped the Lions gain some momentum with a sac-fly to right field which saw Devan Ornelas score.
LMU added a couple runs in the fifth inning which gave them the lead with a Benny Casillas RBI double that allowed Devan Ornelas, and Dylan Dennis to score.
The Lions surrendered two runs in the top of the seventh which equalized the game. The biggest moment of the game came in the eighth inning which gave the Lions the lead for the second time of the night. With a sacrifice fly to right field by Brett Zimmerman, Diego Baqueiro was able to slide home giving LMU the one run lead.
LMU will look to take the series from the Zag in tomorrow's rubber match with the first pitch between the Lions and Zags which is set for 12:00 P.M.
