LOS ANGELES – LMU men's basketball has signed Noah Taitz for the 2022-23 season. Taitz comes to the Bluff from Stanford University where he played in 37 games over two seasons.
Taitz is a 6-3 guard from Las Vegas, Nev., where he was a two-time All-State selection for Bishop Gorman High School. The combo guard played AAU ball for Vegas Elite.
"Noah is a tremendous person, student, and player," said Head Coach
Stan Johnson. "What he does the best as a player is what we needed the most. His athleticism and shooting ability will be a major weapon for our program. I believe Noah is incredibly hungry and determined to be the very best version of himself and I'm excited to help him reach his fullest potential. We are excited that he chose to be a Lion."
Last season, Taitz shot 43.2 percent from three in just over 14 minutes per game, and hit two big threes in Stanford's upset win over #5 USC in January.
"Coach Johnson has made it clear that he understands the importance of love and belief," said Taitz. "I tend to be more relationship oriented, so this was all I needed to hear. I also could feel the love from the guys on the team during my visit. In addition, I can see the opportunity for me to have a significant role on the team and be an impact player. And finally, LMU offers a valuable degree, which means I will have the opportunity to continue pursuing my academic goals. Can't wait to get started!"
Taitz is LMU's second signee ahead of the 2022-23 season. The Lions announced
the signing of Chance Stephens on Apr. 13.
