Scott Surpasses 2,000 Career Points in Final Game for LMU

LOS ANGELES – Eli Scott's decorated LMU career came to a close on Friday night in the second round of the 2022 West Coast Conference Tournament. Scott led with a game-high 24 points, putting his career total at 2,002 in the 85-60 loss to BYU.

Scott scored LMU's first six points as part of his 15-point first half.

The Lions trailed 8-6 before BYU scored the next six points. Joe Quintana scored five unanswered points to bring it back to a one-possession game.

Jalin Anderson's jumper with 7:17 to play in the half cut the score to 25-21, but BYU built the score up to as large as 17 points before carrying a 43-28 lead into halftime.

Scott scored LMU's first three field goals again in the opening minutes of the second half to put the senior at 1,999 career points.

His 2,000th and 2,001st points came in the paint, on an offensive rebound, similar to so many others in his storied career.

Quintana joined Scott in double-figures with a dozen. Kwane Marble II added nine points of the bench.

Scott finishes his LMU career among the program's all-time bests. He ranked sixth in total points (2002), fourth in field goals made (739), third in free throws made (496), third in rebounds (936), and sixth in assists (444). Nobody has worn the LMU uniform than Scott who played 141 games, and is second all-time with 121 starts.

Joe Quintana ranks sixth all-time with 179 three pointers made. One of the most efficient shooters the school has ever seen, his 40 percent mark from long range is sixth all-time and his 86.3 percent clip from the free throw line is second best all-time. Quintana also is tied for 20th in his career with 112 steals.
