LOS ANGELES – The final game of the series between LMU baseball (1-5-1) and Creighton (2-5) featured four lead changes as the two teams battled to earn the series win. Creighton ultimately scored three runs in the ninth to take the game, 8-5.

LMU scored first in all three games of the series. With runners at second and third in the second inning,
Patrick Stark singled through the right side bringing in the game's first run and advancing
Grant Weiss to third. The very next batter put the ball in play on the ninth pitch he saw and scored the runner on a fielder's choice to second.

The 2-0 lead remained until Creighton tied it with one swing of the bat with a two-run shot in the top of the third inning. The Bluejays took a 3-2 lead with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.

In the home half of the frame, LMU's
Ben Grunberg came to the plate with two on and only one out. The senior lifted the ball to center for a three-run go-ahead homer, his first of the season.

The two-run lead lasted until the sixth when Creighton hit a home run of their own, scoring two, and tying the game at 5-5. The Bluejays added three in the ninth to break the tie and go ahead for the win.

Mason Kokodynski,
Alex Burge, and
Owen Hackman allowing a combined six earned runs of the eight total.

LMU will return to Page Stadium Tuesday night to host USC for a 6:00 PM game.
