SAN FRANCISCO –
Cassandra Gordon finished with a career high, 17 points, in a 68-59 LMU victory over the San Francisco Dons Saturday afternoon.
Gordon scored 13 points in the first half with seven of those points coming from the first quarter and six from the second. With 43 seconds left in the game, Gordon gave the Lions the go ahead three to solidifying the win for the Lions.
"I think Cassie works extremely hard on her game during the off season," said Coach A when asked about Gordon's growth and work ethic.
The Lions led the Dons by 10 or more points majority of the ball game. At one point, in the third quarter, LMU was leading San Francisco by 21 points.
A big portion of those points came from contributions from
Alexis Mark and
Nicole Rodriguez.
Mark added 14 points, six rebounds and five assists for the Lions. Rodriguez also finished with a big game scoring 15 points.
Khari Clark,
Amaya Oliver and Mark all tied for leading the team in rebounds with six each.
LMU finished with 20 points in the paint and 16 opponent turnovers.
The Lions next game will be Monday, Dec. 19, against the Santa Clara Broncos in Santa Clara.
