STOCKTON, Calif. - The LMU women's soccer team battled tough but fell to Pacific 1-0 on Wednesday night in Stockton, Calif.
Amanda Delgado continued her strong play, allowing only one goal on a penalty shot.
Jessie Halladay had the best chance of the first half.
Her first attempt in the 41st minute was from a tight angle, but she made the most of the opportunity. Makayla Demelo played an inviting through ball towards the end line. Halladay fired with her first touch right at the goalkeeper in an attempt to keep the ball from going out of play. She got solid contact on it and forced a save.
Halladay also had the first chance of the second half finding some space on the right flank. She fired a shot that went wide right.
Just a minute later, the Lions forced a turnover in the midfield. Jennie Immethun found some space and blasted a dipping shot over the crossbar.
The Tigers were awarded a penalty in the 61st minute when Delgado came together with a Pacific striker.
Immediately following the goal, the Lions had a pair of shouts for penalties on the other side that were waved off by the referee.
Alice Santen played the full 90, the only Lions player to play every minute of every game so far this season.
The Lions have a single game remaining on the schedule. They will wrap up the season against BYU on Saturday night at 7 p.m. (PT). The Lions will honor seven seniors in a pregame ceremony beginning at approximately 6:40.
