LOS ANGELES – The LMU women's volleyball team win their seventh game in a row sweeping the Gonzaga Bulldogs, 3-0.
Set one started off with the Lions leading the Bulldogs, 2-0. Gonzaga followed with a 3-0 run taking the lead, 3-2. Midway through the set, a kill from
Rose Booth sparked a five unanswered point streak for the Lions making it, 17-14. The Lions would go on multiple streaks at the end of the set and end up winning, 25-18.
In the second set, the Lions went on 6-0 run leading the Bulldogs, 10-4. A kill by
Jacquelyn Moore, from Isabella Barford, started another run for the Lions extending the lead by nine, 16-7. At the end of the set the Bulldogs went on five-point streak of their own, but that wasn't enough to surpass the Lions. LMU won set two, 25-19.
The third set was all Lions again. LMU got on the board first leading the Bulldogs, 3-0. Both teams would rack in a few points here and there until LMU went on a 4-0 run leading Gonzaga by five, 15-10. A kill from
Kari Geissberger started would spark another run for the Lions making it, 22-15. An
Audrey Klemp kill would seal the deal for the Lions and give LMU the set win, 25-17, and the game win, 3-0.
The Lions next game will be this Saturday, Oct. 22, against Portland in Portland, OR.
