LOS ANGELES – LMU has won two home games this week already, and looks for a third, as Saint Mary's comes to The Bluff for a 7:00 PM West Coast Conference game. The two teams both carry two-game win streaks into the matchup that will air on ESPNU.
The Lions received an overtime win on Thursday night behind a 31-point, 10-rebound performance from
Eli Scott. The fifth-year senior ranks 28
th among active Division I players with 1,777 career points, 21
st in career rebounds in Division I with 860, and 63
rd in career assists among active players at 415. With his 31 points on Thursday, Scott now ranks 25
th all-time in conference scoring.
Another bright point in the last two wins have been the back-to-back double-digit games by
Kwane Marble II. Following his career-high performance in the win Monday over Portland, Marble added 10 points on Thursday night, including key baskets down the stretch to help the Lions secure victory.
The Gaels have proven to be one of the toughest teams to score against again this season. Saint Mary's ranks eighth nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 58.4 points per game. This is on trend with the last time these two program met in the WCC Championships last March. The combined score of that game in Las Vegas was 99 total points between the two programs. Both teams return their leading scorer from that game as Scott totaled 18 points and Logan Johnson added 25 for SMC.
In addition to the television broadcast, KXLU 88.9 will broadcast the audio of the game on radio.
Fans in attendance must
purchase tickets online or through the AXS app prior to arriving to campus.
