LOS ANGELES – The early stretch of conference play continues Saturday as the Lions shift from Northern California to Southern California to face San Diego. The Lions will face the Toreros at 6:00 PM on the WCC Network.
The two teams have played each other just once since
Stan Johnson took over the program at LMU. The Lions defeated USD by three, 72-69, on Jan. 19, 2021, in Los Angeles. The return trip to Jenny Craig Pavilion between the two programs was never played due to COVID protocols.
The Lions saw the return of
Jalin Anderson in Thursday's loss on the Hilltop. The sophomore guard played just shy of 20 minutes and scored nine points in his first game back since opening night against Chattanooga.
San Diego has won two straight conference games entering the weekend. The Toreros beat Pepperdine earlier in the week and then topped Portland on Thursday night with an overtime performance. Leading scoring Marcellus Earlington dropped 16 and 21 points, respectively, in the two wins.
On Thursday in San Francisco, 10 different Lions scored in a game for the second time this season.
The game will also be broadcasted on radio on KXLU 88.9.
