SAN FRANCISCO – LMU shot over 50 percent (26-for-51) from the field Thursday night but could not overcome 17 first half turnovers in a loss at San Francisco. In the only matchup between the two teams this season, the Dons took the game, 97-73.
The first five minutes featured five lead changes as the two teams traded baskets to open the game.
Dameane Douglas scored the first four for LMU, getting to the basket on the first two shots for the Lions. Douglas finished his night with 15 points.

Cam Shelton jumper preceded a go-ahead dunk by
Eli Scott.
Jalin Anderson made his return to action for the first time since opening night and scored four first half points for the Lions. Anderson hit a layup to make it a 13-12 deficit and then again to make it a 25-22 deficit. In his return, Anderson scored nine points and dished out a team-high three assists.
San Francisco closed the half on a 22-2 run following a
Keli Leaupepe three, flipping it from a one-possession game to a 52-29 halftime score.
LMU shot 57 percent (12-for-21) from the field in the first half, but the Dons benefitted from 23 points off turnovers in the opening 20 minutes. The Lions committed only four turnovers the rest of the game.
Scott opened the second half with a drive to the bucket as the first of his 16 second half points. Scott shot 6-for-7 from the floor after intermission and finished the game with 22 points to share game-high scoring honors with USF's Jamaree Bouyea.
David Elliott IV hit a pair of late threes for his first collegiate points.
The Lions will continue West Coast Conference action on Saturday in San Diego to face the Toreros.
