No. 17 Lions and Aztecs End Thriller in a Draw

LOS ANGELES, CA – The No. 17 Loyola Marymount University Lions (1-0-1) opened the home portion of their schedule on Monday night against the San Diego State Aztecs in a 0-0 draw in front of a boisterous crowd at Sullivan Field.

The Lions had plenty of chances to break into the scoring column but most of their attempts went over or wide of the net. LMU's best scoring opportunity came off the foot of Creggton Charlton in the 64th minute when he sent a shot that got tipped by the Aztecs keeper and hit the top post before being corralled by San Diego State.

LMU outshot SDSU 20-16 and had five shots on goal compared to the Aztecs two. The Lions trailed in corners 6-2 while SDSU committed eighteen fouls to LMU's thirteen.

Jacob Jackson was back in net for the Lions and produced another clean sheet in his 110 minutes on the pitch.

LMU returns to action on Friday, September 3rd when they travel to Fullerton to play the Titans for their second road game of the season. Kickoff between the Lions and Titans is set for 7:00 p.m.
