SEATTLE, Wash. – Following a scoreless first half, one goal after intermission decided the outcome of LMU's game at Washington. The Huskies (1-2) scored in the 53
rd minute of play to defeat the Lions (0-4), 1-0, on Sunday afternoon.
LMU outshot Washington in the first half, 4-3, with neither team finding the back of the net. The home team's offense awoke after intermission with 11 second half shots, but only one found the back of the net. UW's Ameera Hussen scored just over seven minutes into the second half with a left footed shot to the bottom left of the goal.
Kendyll Humphreys made all four of her saves in the second half, compared to only one save for Washington's goalkeeper Sekany.
Freshman Lexi Yela took half of LMU's four total shots, accounting for the only shot on target.
The Lions will host a pair of games on Sullivan Field this week. UC Irvine will come to the Bluff on Thursday night followed by UCLA coming across town on Sunday afternoon.
