WASHINGTON D.C. – Facing the 11
th-ranked team in the nation, LMU women's soccer (0-2-0) faced 18 shots and only allowed two goals to the nationally-ranked Georgetown Hoyas (1-0-1). The Lions dropped the game, 2-0, to complete their east coast opening stretch of the season.
Georgetown opened the game with a goal in the 5
th minute and added their second in the 79
th.
LMU was outshot 18-4 but held the Hoyas to just five shots on target.
Kendyll Humphreys made three saves on those five shots on goal.
Rene Wasi and
Sydney Schultz recorded both of the on-net shots for the Lions, with LMU finishing at four total shots.
The Lions will return home to make their Sullivan Field 2021 debuts on Thursday. LMU welcomes UC Riverside to Sullivan Field for a 7 p.m. kick off.
