LOS ANGELES – The No. 5 Loyola Marymount University beach volleyball team will head into the West Coast Conference Championship as the No. 1 seed this weekend. This will be the first time in program history that the Lions enter the conference championship as a No. 1 seed.
The Lions will head into this weekend with a 26-6 record, and coming off of a six-match winning streak. LMU went 4-0 last weekend when they were up north, as the team beat Stanford 3-2, San Jose State 5-0, Grand Canyon University 5-0 and Cal 4-1.
The Lions are not only heading to the WCC Championships with the highest seed in program history, there are also coming in at No. 5 in the nation, the highest ranking in program history.

Savannah Slattery,
Jessie Prichard,
Darby Dunn,
Emma Doud. And
Iya Lindahl will all be recognized. The seniors have all been key contributors in the Lions' success over the years.
LMU has an undefeated 6-0 conference record and will play its first match of the championships on Friday at noon. The Lions will play the winner of the Santa Clara and Pacific match.
The teams will be back out on the courts on Saturday, with the semifinals starting at 9:00 AM, and the championship match starting at 1:30 PM.
