LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University Lions women's swim team will head to Biola tomorrow for a dual meet against the Eagles. This will be the first meeting between Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference members prior to the PCSC Championships in April.
The Friday dual meet is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. and will be streamed live with links to the broadcast available on the women's swimming schedule page at lmulions.com.
LMU will look for their second straight meet victory after besting both Pepperdine and Westmont in a triangular meet last month. The Lions downed the Waves 147-105 and the Warriors 197-57 and will look for similar results against Biola.
Taylor Pajunen took home PCSC Athlete of the Week honors for her efforts in the meet against Pepperdine and Westmont for winning both the 100 and 200 butterfly. In the 200, Pajunen staged a come-from-behind touch to take the race in 2:13.14. Her 200 time ranks second in the PCSC this year (only .02 behind first) and is less than 2.5 seconds from her PR 'suited' time done at the 2020 PCSC Championship. Pajunen returned later in the day to also take the 100 fly in 1:02.15.
Additionally,
Abigail Shaw will look for a repeat performance against the Eagles just like the one she posted versus Pepperdine and Westmont when she won the 50 and 100 freestyle. Shaw posted winning times in the 50 free of 24.64 and 100 free of 55.11 to give the Lions eight wins in the 14 event meet.
Head Coach
Bonnie Adair will have a majority of the roster available to compete tomorrow. Adair will look to
Kelli Andrade,
Heidi Ly,
Anna Doherty,
Serena Myatt, and the rest of the Lions to post solid times against the Eagles.
After Friday's meet the Lions will return to the pool for a triangular meet against Pepperdine and Azusa Pacific on Saturday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m.
No fans will be permitted at the meet and all state, local and university health protocols will be respected by student-athletes, coaches and staff.
