Lions Set for Final Tuneup Against Westmont and Alaska Fairbanks

LOS ANGELES – The Loyola Marymount University Lions women's swim team will head north to Santa Barbara this weekend to compete in their final triangular meet against Westmont and Alaska Fairbanks prior to ending the year at the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Championships in April.

This will be the second meet against the Warriors and first opposite the Nanooks. The last time the Lions competed against Westmont was at Burns Aquatics Center and LMU walked away with a 197-57 victory.

The meet against the Warriors and Nanooks will be the fifth of the season for the Lions and head coach Bonnie Adair will have her roster primed and ready to compete.

LMU is having a solid 2021 campaign and already boasts a pair of PCSC Athletes of the Week in Taylor Pajunen and Heidi Ly.

Pajunen was recognized by the conference for her stellar swimming earlier in the year against Pepperdine and Westmost when she won both the 100 and 200 butterfly while Ly took home the honors for winning the medley pentathlon at Biola.

The triangular meet will be streamed live with links to the broadcast available on the women's swimming schedule page at lmulions.com.
