LOS ANGELES – The LMU women's soccer team (1-1-1, 1-1-0) dropped its first game of the season on Saturday afternoon, a 2-0 contest to San Diego (1-2-0, 1-1-0). The Toreros scored once in each half to take the game.
The Toreros scored first in the 29
th minute and then added to their lead in the 83
rd minute.
San Diego took nine shots in the first half, but LMU's defense limited the visitors to just three shots in the second half. The Lions accounted for six shots in the first half and five in the second for a total of 11.
Bella Beltran,
Skylar Robledo, and
Abby Stewart each totaled two shots.
Kendyll Humphreys totaled three saves in her 90 minutes in net.
The Lions earned five corners compared to six for USD.
LMU will remain at home for another week and host BYU next Saturday to open March.
