Lions Take Final Three Sets from San Francisco to Win in Four

LOS ANGELES – LMU women's volleyball picked a home win on Saturday, taking down San Francisco in four sets, 21-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-16. After dropping the first set, LMU did not allow more than 16 points in a set to the Dons the remainder of the match.
 
San Francisco opened the match with the first five points and used a second run of five unanswered to go ahead 12-4. The Dons led by as many as eight points, at 20-12, when the Lions scored the next seven points to make it a one-point game, 20-19. San Francisco closed it out with five of the final seven.
 
After allowing the first two points of the second set, LMU scored the next six including a pair of aces from Rose Booth. The Lions held the lead the remainder of the set and built it up to 21-12 following a run of four straight. Megan Rice recorded a kill to close out the set.
 
LMU scored 10 of the first 11 points, including nine in a row to take an early 10-1 lead. The lead grew to a dozen on a few occasions and an ace from Rice made it 24-10.
 
Another early run put LMU in a 5-1 advantage to open the fourth set. Leading 19-15, the Lions closed out the match on a 6-1 run to claim the match.

Audrey Klemp led all players with 14 kills, with Booth adding 12 and Rice finishing with 10. Isabella Bareford recorded 34 assists. Mary Shroll led the team with 15 digs, while Bareford completed the double-double with five of her own.
 
The Lions recorded 11.5 blocks, compared to allowing just 1.0, and were led by 7.0 from Jacquelyn Moore.
 
LMU will play its final home match on Tuesday night and will recognize the five members of the senior class prior to first serve.
