LOS ANGELES – LMU women's volleyball closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep of Portland, 25-20, 25-23, 25-12.

The Lions used a 4-0 run to take an early lead as back-to-back kills by
Megan Rice broke a 2-2 tie and an ace by
Gabbie Heller pushed LMU ahead 5-2. The Lions scored seven of eight points in the middle of the set to take a 14-6 advantage. Portland climbed back within two, 22-20, before LMU closed out the set with three straight points.
The Pilots held an 11-9 lead before LMU scored 9 of the next 11 points, including the final five in a row to push ahead 18-13. The five-point lead evaporated as Portland tied the game at 23-all. Coming out of a timeout,
Audrey Klemp recorded a kill and the team benefitted from a mishandled ball to claim the set.

With
Isabella Bareford serving to open the set, LMU jumped in front 5-0. The lead grew to 12-3 as Isabelle Refell took her turn at the service line. An ace by Anabella Pirrotta made it 16-6, then LMU scored the final six points of the match to claim victory. The Lions closed the set with a .433 hitting percentage.

Megan Rice (16), Klemp (12), and Heller (11) all reached double-figure kills.
Isabella Bareford recorded 31 assists.
