LOS ANGELES – The LMU men's basketball program will be back at home on Saturday, for a non-conference game against Arizona Christian. The game will be played at Gersten Pavilion with a 4:00 pm tip scheduled.
In LMU's opener, three players scored in double-figures, all of whom were recognized by the league a season ago.
Keli Leaupepe, a 2020-21 All-WCC Honorable Mention selection, scored a team-high 17 points including three threes. The Australian junior added seven rebounds, five of which came on the offensive glass. LMU grabbed 15 offensive rebounds as a team, resulting in 21 second chance points.
All-WCC Freshman Team performer
Jalin Anderson added a dozen points with All-WCC First Team member
Eli Scott equaling with 12 of his own.
Arizona Christian, an NAIA school out of Glendale, enters the weekend undefeated. The Firestorm are outscoring their opponents by an average of 42.4 points per game in their first five outings. Arizona Christian's offense is putting up 97.8 points per game on 50.7 percent shooting from the field. ACU is +12.6 on the glass and averages nearly 15 steals per game.
The hot start for the Firestorm is built off last season's successes, where the program went 24-3 overall and undefeated in Golden Coast Athletic Conference play at 10-0.
This is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
The game will stream on the WCC Network and live audio on KXLU 88.9.
